Chelsie was born and raised in Skagit County. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School and attended Skagit Valley College to complete an Associate Degree in Human Services. She will be graduating from Skagit Valley College as the first Healthcare Management cohort of the Bachelor of Applied Science program in June 2023. Chelsie is a first-generation college student and previous SWAN scholarship recipient.
Chelsie is passionate about working with people with disabilities and behavioral health disorders in our community. Chelsie is the Vocational Rehabilitation Director for Samish Indian Nation and provides vocational rehabilitation for individuals with disabilities who are enrolled in federally recognized tribes and reside in the designated service area.
In addition to serving on the SWAN board, Chelsie serves as a Board Member and Promotions Coordinator for WE Ignite. Chelsie also volunteers on the Community Health Advisory Committee for the Washington State Department of Health, which advises the PHHS Block Grant that addresses birth equity, health literacy, and sexual assault prevention.
When not working, finishing school, or volunteering, Chelsie enjoys cooking, organizing, spending time with her husband, playing with her daughter, being outdoors, and kayaking.
