Lauren (She/Her(s)/Ella) brings over 8 years of professional experience across various industries with expertise in Human Resources, IT Administration, and Office Management. Lauren joined Skagit Valley College in 2023 as a Human Resources Consultant and does employment processing for Faculty, Exempt, and Volunteers.

Lauren having grown up in Washington, relocated back to her home state in May 2023 after living in Rochester, Minnesota for 4 years.

During her time in Minnesota, she discovered her passion for Human Resources while working at a Convention & Visitors Bureau. Since 2022, she graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Human Resources Generalist Certification, secured a grant from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) for the HR Exam to become SHRM-CP certified, and earned a mentorship with Latinas Rising Up in HR, powered by Netflix.

In 2024, Lauren is excited to join S.W.A.N as a Board Member and will also be part of the National Steering Committee for Latinas in the Boardroom. Additionally, she recently won a DEI Fellowship with Skagit Valley College as a student.

Lauren is committed to promoting Latino representation in leadership and actively supports opportunities for professional development, mentorship programs, and scholarships within the Latino community. She is dedicated to driving positive change and championing diversity and inclusion.

Back in Washington with her partner and two blind cats, Lauren spends her spare time writing her first novel, learning Spanish, and enjoying various artistic endeavors like reading, hiking, geology, botany, knitting, singing, and baking.
